AVM Application Guidelines
Before applying, please read these guidelines carefully. They are intended to help you understand the Foundation’s aims, the types of organisations and projects we support, and whether your application is likely to be a good fit.
Eligibility
We prefer to fund organisations which are registered in the UK or have a partnership or association to a UK registered charity when working overseas
New organisations will need to provide audited or independently examined accounts if they have not yet submitted an annual return to the Charity Commission
Applicants can only re-apply a minimum of two years from the date of the conclusion of the previous application process, except in exceptional circumstances subject to Trustees' approval.
Applicants are expected to have applied to other grant making Trusts and organisations for financial support for the project.
Exclusions - we are not able to fund the following:
Work that is not legally charitable
Re-granting of funds to other charities or individuals
Grants to individuals including for independent education
Generic or mass mailing fundraising appeals
Activities that have already taken place or projects that have already completed
Grant types:
The Foundation prefers requests for capital projects (buildings, vehicles, equipment) but will consider appeals to fund animal welfare education programmes or occasionally for running costs as we are aware of increased demand, rising costs and decreased donations.
Before You Apply ✨
We receive applications from a wide range of organisations and are unfortunately unable to support every worthwhile project.
Before submitting an application, we strongly recommend taking a look at the projects we’ve supported o far and latest news. This gives an indication of the charities, causes and types of projects the Foundation has supported previously and should help you understand whether your application is aligned with our areas of interest.
If, having reviewed these guidelines and our previous projects, you believe your organisation and project are a good fit for the Foundation, we would be very pleased to hear from you.
