Foundation Grant to Support Associazione Etica Antispecista Jill Phipps

Named in honour of the late UK animal rights activist Jill Phipps, the entirely volunteer-run Italian sanctuary operates under an anti-speciesist ethical philosophy, providing permanent homes for rescued animals who have nowhere else to go.

The sanctuary is currently working to expand its land, creating more space for the animals in its care while offering greater protection from hunters and local wildlife threats. The Foundation's grant will help the team continue this important work by supporting the care of the many rescued animals who call the sanctuary home.

This funding will contribute towards the care of the sanctuary's 16 rescued cows and bulls, 65 sheep and goats, 11 pigs, two dogs, six cats, as well as rabbits and chickens—helping ensure they continue to receive the care and protection they deserve.

Speaking about the grant, the team at Associazione Etica Antispecista Jill Phipps said:

The grant will help us cover the always significant costs of caring for the rescued animals who call our refuge home.

In particular, it will support the care of our 16 rescued cows and bulls, which are among the most expensive animals to maintain, as well as our 65 sheep and goats, 11 pigs, 2 dogs, 6 cats, rabbits and chickens.
