The move was a total success—and a gentle one, too. Rather than using stressful anesthesia, the team moved four bears by simply leading them with a "trail of fruit" into their new home.

The bears are now safely tucked away for hibernation under a fresh blanket of snow, ready to wake up to a new life in the spring. We’re honoured to have helped make this sanctuary a reality and can't wait to see the centre welcome the public next October.
