Parliamentary Exhibition Drives Momentum for UK Trophy Hunting Import Ban
In May, the Anthony V. Martin Charitable Foundation proudly supported a groundbreaking photographic exhibition at the Houses of Parliament, amplifying Humane World for Animals' critical campaign to ban trophy hunting imports into the UK.

Confronting Reality Through Art
Award-winning wildlife photojournalist Britta Jaschinski's powerful images brought an uncomfortable truth into the heart of British democracy. Her photographs documented the grim reality of trophy-hunted lions, elephants, rhinos, and leopards—majestic creatures reduced to contraband body parts seized by UK border control.
The exhibition's impact was deepened by handwritten messages from members of the public, collected during an earlier showing at the Mall Galleries. These personal responses, displayed alongside Jaschinski's haunting photographs, created a visceral connection between public sentiment and political action.

Political Momentum Builds
The exhibition drew over 20 MPs from across party lines, demonstrating the cross-party support this issue commands. Minister for Animal Welfare Baroness Hayman described the exhibition as "quite incredible" and reinforced the Government's commitment to legislative action.
Humane World for Animals complemented the visual impact with a compelling short film capturing public reactions to the photographs—evidence of the overwhelming public demand for change.
Looking Ahead
With the King's Speech approaching, there is growing optimism that a Government Bill banning trophy hunting imports will finally become reality. This exhibition has positioned the issue firmly on the political agenda at a crucial moment.
Our Foundation's £5,000 contribution reflects our commitment to supporting urgent, impactful animal protection work. We salute Claire Bass and the dedicated Humane World for Animals team for their relentless advocacy and look forward to continuing our partnership in this vital cause.
The fight to end trophy hunting imports continues, and together, we're building the momentum needed to secure lasting change for wildlife protection.
