Apply for Grant Funding

Application Guidelines

Before you apply, please read and consider these guidelines carefully to help you develop an understanding of the Foundation’s aims and objectives.

What we support:  The Anthony V Martin Foundation is primarily an animal welfare charity and our aim is to improve the lives of animals and prevent suffering wherever possible without the restriction of geography. In addition, we will consider applications from charities working to educate in animal welfare or are supporting people to care for their animals or are involving animals to create a mutually beneficial relationship between people and animals.

Who we work with:

  • We prefer to fund organisations which are registered in the UK or have a partnership or association to a UK registered charity when working overseas

  • New organisations will need to provide audited or independently examined accounts if they have not yet submitted an annual return to the Charity Commission

  • We are now receiving a much higher number of applications so we are asking charities to allow a minimum of two-years to elapse following the outcome of a previous application before re-applying

Exclusions: We are not able to fund any of the following:-

  • Work that is not legally charitable

  • Grants to individuals including for independent education

  • Generic or mass mailing fundraising appeals

  • Work that is primarily the responsibility of statutory authorities

  • Activities that have already taken place or projects that have already completed

Grant types:  The Foundation prefers requests for capital projects but we will consider appeals to fund animal welfare education programmes or occasionally for running costs are as we are aware of how many charities are struggling with rising costs.
